To create a safe and nurturing environment where children and adults can establish a heartfelt connection and develop lifelong skills for emotional regulation, rooted in The Polyvagal Theory. Through play, creativity and mindfulness practices, we guide individuals towards a harmonious connection within themselves, fostering resilience and empowering them to navigate their emotions with confidence.
Primary Teacher | Relax Kids Coach | Mama of twins | Reiki Master | Mindfulness Teacher | Creative Therapeutic Practitioner | Trainee Play Therapist
I qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2010 from the University of Worcester. I have taught in five schools around Worcestershire and led a large Early Years department and became a Senior Leader in Education advising and supporting other Early Year settings in 2018.
In 2017 I trained to become a Relax Kids Coach to help the children in my school that needed more support with their emotional development. There was limited guidance for teachers who were supporting children with SEMH needs, and I felt schools needed in house provision to be able to provide daily support for these children. Relax Kids teaches children basic relaxation skills and how to tune into their bodies. It is suitable for all children as they are essential skills for life, learning about themselves.
In 2016 I began having fertility treatment after finding out I would never conceive naturally. It felt like a never ending process at the time and I was feeling unwell with all the medication I had to take. I started doing lots of creative mindful activities, such as cake decorating , embroidery, brush lettering and many more. I also have a real love for nature and walks with my two dogs. I quickly realised that when I was around other people and immersed in a creative activity I was transported to a place free from worry and what if's. I felt alive and that free spirted Rachel who loves to feel inspired and enthused came back. It also has a lasting effect that fed into my 'day to day life'. I've been addicted to the playful art of creativity ever since. This is the inspiration behind the community creativity well-being classes I offer.
I now get to enjoy getting creative with my twin boys who are now five years old.
I have always had a passion for the importance of play and creativity in education and also supporting children's mental and emotional health. I have now combined all my loves in one and now offer 1:1 support to children and their families in Worcestershire . I am a qualified Creative Therapeutic Practitioner and Mindfulness Teacher. I am also completing my Post Graduate in Child Therapy to enable me to become a fully fledged Child Therapist.
Through combining these modalities it creates a very powerful way of accessing our subconscious mind to enable us to access unprocessed emotions and traumas we may have had, in a very gentle and compassionate way. It also enables us to find inner calm and peace inside of us, regardless of what's going on externally in our lives.
I work with children 1:1 and run community classes.
At creatively mindful, I believe in a holistic approach to wellness that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, where everyone feels comfortable and supported and a sense of community and true heart connection can be formed.
