If your child is needing support to help relax, control unwanted thoughts, manage and process emotions; Mindful Creativity could help them to learn the skills needed to manage these challenges in their day to day life. Creating a safe space to release and process their internal state and having someone they can open up to separate to their family network, helps create space between their difficulties and their home life. I deliver sessions in schools and in clients homes.
I am a qualified Primary Teacher, Creative Therapeutic Practitioner and Mindfulness Teacher. I am also completing my Post Graduate in Child Therapy to enable me to become a fully fledged Child Therapist.
Through combining these modalities it creates a very powerful way of accessing our subconscious mind to enable us to access unprocessed emotions and traumas we may have had, in a very gentle and compassionate way. It also enables us to find inner calm and peace inside of us, regardless of what's going on externally in our lives.
My practise is rooted in The Polyvagal Theory and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). I have completed specific training in children's and young peoples mental health (NCFE) and a clinician course by Deb Dana (lead clinician in the Polyvagal theory). Through my continued study and research I am able to connect to what is going on deeply within a child and help them co-regulate through the connection we form in the sessions.
A session is usually 1 hour long and we use a range of creative resources such as pencils, pens, water colour paint, acrylic paint, oil pastels, chalks, sand trays, clay and imagery. A minimum of six sessions is required to help foster the relationship and work through the challenges they are facing.
I am insured with up to date DBS checks, safeguarding and first aid training. Sessions are priced at £65 per session.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further. I look forward to hearing from you.
